Adobe Labs - Kuler

Adobe Labs - Kuler

http://kuler.adobe.com

Adobe Labs has created a great color palette creation site called Kuler. You can find many custom color palettes that have been already created and rated here. The power in this tool is revealed in the “Create” area. Lock in a base color and choose from many traditional color theory rules like: Analogous, Monochromatic, Triad, Complimentary, Compound, Shades and or your own custom color palette, Kuler will do the rest for you. Save yourself time and get additional impact out of your designs with a professional color palette tool like Kuler.

brands of the world

Brands of the World
http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/
This is a great place to find just about any logo you have ever seen. Most of these are AI or EPS files which are great for scaling and printing. I do want to warn you though that these are recreated by people of the interweb. They are not always perfect, but it can get the job done if you need something quick and dirty.

Remember these should only really be used for personal use. If you have the right to use a logo then I’m sure the company would be glad to send you the official file.

Go to dafont website

Great font site that is totally comprehensive
http://www.dafont.com

Dafont.com is a free font site that covers many font types like: Fancy, Foreign look, Techno, Bitmap, Gothic, Basic, Script, Dingbats, Holiday, Serif and San Serif fonts. Not only does it have a great selection of free fonts but the site catalogs the fonts Authors, Top 100 and font tools. Low cost font management, font conversion, font creation and other various font tools.

For budget restricted projects this is usually my first place I look for new fonts or finding that matching font that someone is looking for.

Ms Dewey

http://www.msdewey.com/

This is a cleaver and totally annoying search engine provided by MS Live Search. My wife works at Microsoft and linked me to this about a year ago. Thank god for Ms Dewey’s mute button.

Created with Paul’s flickrSLiDR.

flickrSLiDR is a slide show tool that can pull from your flickr account. It’s very nice. You can change the Width and Height, add tags and Full text if you so desire. It might be a good tool for my other sites when I need it.

Another Flickr Slide Show Tool - Picto Browser:
